The inverter is the difference. Old AC would blast cold, then shut off, then blast again. This one just… holds the temperature. Sleep is so much better.
‘Alexa, set bedroom to 70.' Done from the couch. The app works too but voice is the everyday thing. Setup took 5 minutes.
440 sq.ft living room with west-facing windows that turn into a greenhouse at 4pm. The 10,000 BTU brought it from 86°F to 72°F in 18 minutes. ENERGY STAR is a real bonus on the electric bill.
I'm not handy. Watched the included QR-code video, had it in the window in 25 minutes. The bracket does the heavy lifting — literally — and the side curtains seal perfectly.
Cooling is unreal on the 12,000 BTU — drops my whole open living/dining (510 sq.ft) by 12°F in 20 min. Only ding: it's heavy. Plan to have a second person around for the lift into the window.
200 sq.ft bedroom, runs the 6K on low all night, never wakes me up. Estimated $33/year energy cost — my utility bill noticeably dropped this month.
Sold my portable AC and bought the 8K Midea. No more dripping hose, no more lugging it around. Cools better, runs quieter, looks 10x cleaner in the window.
